| Here
are just a few tricks to keep you and your board happy!
STEP
1:
Each
board will arrive carefully packaged in bubble and/or tissue paper
(or wrapping paper). We recommend washing your hands before removing
the tissue paper and making sure your surface area is clean. Place
a new papertowel or dry dish cloth down before unwrapping.
STEP
2: If you plan on hanging your Storyboard on the
wall, this is the time to use the enclosed hardware. It's a simple
flat headed nail that when hung properly, will allow the board to
sit flush with the wall. [The enclosed nail should be used for drywall
only.] For plaster, brick and cement walls use a bracket and screw
instead. Once the nail is in the wall move on to the next step.
STEP
3: If you ordered the Hardcover (acrylic) version,
you will need to carefully remove the protective coating. It's basically
a big sticker on top of the acrylic used to prevent scratches. Start
from one of the four corners and gently peel the sticker back. It
make take a few tries but it will come off without too much effort.
[The Promotional versions do not have a protective sticker.]
STEP
4:
To get the maximum magnetic strength from your Storyboard, we suggest
removing the copper pin from the back of each button. If that's
too much work or you need the pins to remain "with" the
button then do this... find a hard, flat surface that won't scratch
(like a kitchen counter) and place the button pin side down. With
the image side facing up, gently press down on the outer edge of
the button to force the copper pin "inside" the button
cap. Don't press directly in the center of the button since you
could cause a dent. (Don't say we didn't warn you!)

Why do this? Our
boards work because we sandwich a magnetic sheet between the front
and back of each board. The magnetic part of the button is the metal
ring that you see on the underside of the button. The copper pin
is not magnetic and if it protrudes too much (the U-shaped part
and pin), your buttons will not "stick" to the board.
STEP
5: The part that you've been waiting for!! Once
you've completed STEP 4, you can now fill up your Storyboard with
buttons! Just pop them right in (image side facing out) and that's
it.
STEP
6:
Carefully pickup your board by the outer edges and hang on the wall.
Use a glass cleaner like Windex and a soft papertowel to clean the
acrylic. For the Promotional versions you can use glass cleaner
too or just a damp cloth or even a vaccum with a brush attachment.
STEP
7: What if I want to change out the buttons, say
like everyday? Is it hard? It's not hard but it's not as easy as
getting them in. We suggest taking the board off the wall first
and again placing it on a clean dry surface. Once it's off the wall,
find a thin object with a pointed end like a credit card, driver's
license, spoon, bobby pin, business card... even a long fingernail.
Simply insert the thin object gently near the edge of the button
and pop it out. Just be carefull not to scratch the front face of
the board.
